BDO takes over as auditor at Empyrean Energy

BDO is to take over from Chapman Davis as auditors to Empyrean Energy, an oil and gas explorer and producer active in the US and listed on the London Stock Exchange's (LSE's) AIM market.

In an announcement to the LSE, Empyrean Energy, said it had appointed BDO International as its auditor with immediate effect. BDO will conduct the company interim review for the six months to 30 September 2013 and audit for the year ended 31 March 2014.

In May 2013, when its annual report and accounts for the year ended 31 March 2013 were published, Empyrean stated: 'The Auditors, Chapman Davis LLP, have indicated their willingness to continue in office and a resolution that they be reappointed will be proposed at the Annual General Meeting.' According to the financial statements, Chapman Davis were paid £35,000 in auditor's remuneration last year.
