Access to finance remains one of the biggest challenges facing the UK’s small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs). But alternative financiers are stepping in to plug the funding gap with new ways of providing capital.
A Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) report shows that only one in seven SMEs are applying for external finance. It also notes that a lack of awareness of alternative finance is putting a break on growth. That is hardly surprising as the market is changing rapidly.
