CABA will host personal and professional development courses at the weekend for the first time to allow time pressed members to attend, who otherwise may not have been able to due to work commitments
CABA is launching two new courses for ICAEW members, which will run in October and November on Saturdays to cater for members that are under time pressures at work and home during the week.
The two courses are ‘building your resilience’ which runs on 12 November in Kenilworth and ‘experiential mindfulness’ which will be on 15 October in Guildford. Both courses are from nine in the morning until four in the afternoon.
Mary Jane Gunn, support manager at CABA said: ‘We know that today’s working world is no longer nine to five, and that taking a whole day off work to attend a course is sometimes just not feasible, no matter how useful it may be. We know ICAEW members and their families are particularly time pressed, so that’s why we’re now opening up the opportunity to attend courses on a Saturday.
‘We anticipate providing more locally based courses in the future, as we look to engage more past and present ICAEW members and their families across a range of subjects.’
CABA has also launched online courses to further broaden access to people that cannot attend in person due to work or location.
The courses are broken into 20-45 minute modules.
Gunn said: ‘“Putting our courses online will help more ICAEW members and their families to access an extending range of advice, information and support online, and providing them with more choice as to how they access CABA courses. For those looking to become more resilient or who want help and advice on their career, these webinars provide the perfect platform for people to access at a time and location to suit them.
‘We would recommend that people still attend the courses where possible as the interaction and group learnings cannot be replicated, but the information provided in the webinars will help members access key information and advice, hopefully guiding them to better wellbeing and feeling better in themselves.”
