It’s hard to believe ICAEW’s new CPD regime has been in place for almost two full years, having launched on 1 November 2023. Since then, firms and members have been adjusting to the new structure – logging hours, categorising roles, and hopefully squeezing in that mandatory hour of ethics somewhere between client deadlines.

On 1 November 2024, ICAEW quietly began its monitoring activities, reviewing how members were adapting to the system. Up to now, that monitoring has been largely educational and supportive – more of a ‘let’s help you get this right’ approach than a disciplinary one.

That changes from 1 November 2025.
