The Charity Commission found ‘repeated instances of misconduct and/or mismanagement by the family’ of The Captain Tom Foundation, which was set up during the pandemic to handle the millions of donations he raised by walking 100 laps around his garden.

The former trustees of the charity, Hannah and Colin Ingram-Moore, the daughter of Captain Tom and son in law, have been criticised over their roles while in control of the Captain Tom Moore Foundation throughout the Charity Commission’s inquiry.

There is currently just one trustee of the charity, Stephen Jones, who was appointed in May 2020. Two further trustees have also resigned from their roles, Simon DeMaid and David Thomas-Walls.
