Cashpoint boss jailed for £3m fraud

A director of an ATM reconditioning company has been jailed for 12 years after stealing more than £3m from his clients to fund a lavish lifestyle

Duncan Grant, from East Sussex, was handed a 12-year sentence after repeatedly cheating clients out of £3.8m to fund a lavish lifestyle involving fancy cars and holidays.

Over six years, Grant orchestrated a complex and large-scale fraud operation, and convinced numerous victims to invest in his cash-spoiling device company, known as Patronus.

Although this was a legitimate enterprise, which involved purchasing ATMs to recondition, Grant invested only a fraction of the money he received into the company and did not purchase any ATMs.
