CEOs fear the risk from ungoverned AI

The threat of artificial intelligence getting out of control and trade restrictions top the list of concerns for business leaders across the financial sector

According to KPMG’s latest Top Risks Forecast, the three most negative factors threatening growth in 2024 and beyond are the use of ‘ungoverned AI’, followed by China’s slower growth and lastly global economic headwinds.

As artificial intelligence (AI) is picking up steam with five times more investment in the technology than a decade ago it has the potential to impact the global economy, meaning companies need to evaluate their standards around the use of AI, and how it will impact potential revenue.
