Finance director refused to co-operate with FRC over investigation into engineering subsdiary company so barred from CIMA, separately fined $95,000 by US courts after SEC action
Nicholas Bowerman, former finance director of Pipeline Engineering & Supply Co Ltd (Pipeline), the UK business unit of US company, Circor International, has been barred from being a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) by the disciplinary tribunal. The ban will last for a ‘recommended five years’ after Bowerman failed to co-operate with the investigation by the Financial Reporting Council (FRC). CIMA has confirmed that Bowerman was excluded from membership in November 2025.
Meantime, in the US, Bowerman has been fined $96,972.31 (£72,325) by the US District Court, District of Massachusetts, in a separate action over internal control failures after a complaint against Bowerman brought by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
