The Confederation of British Industry might dismiss action against tax havens as a ‘red herring’, but if ever there were a time and an opportunity to re-draw the global fiscal map it is now. From Liechtenstein to Antigua, Canary Wharf to Wall Street, the economic damage wrought by tax evasion and avoidance and financial secrecy have been well and truly exposed.
