Ex KPMG partner appointed head of IFRS Foundation

Trustees of the global standard setter oversight body name former KPMG partner Laura Forzani as managing director of the IFRS Foundation, while IASB seeking new chair

 

Forzani will replace Michel Madelain, who is stepping down after a two-year term, and is due to take up the position from 1 September. She is a former partner and ESG chief operating officer at KPMG UK, with more than 25 years of strategic, commercial and operational expertise from both the public and private sectors.

After leaving KPMG in January 2025 after seven years at the Big Four firm, Forzani has held a range of non-executive and governance positions including as chair of the  wildlife trust consultancy Middlemarch, and a member of the finance and audit committee at St John Ambulance. She originally joined KPMG in August 2017 as a commercial director before becoming a partner in October 2023 and COO, with a strategic leadership role driving the ESG business strategy to align operating planning with the firm’s long-term growth objectives, before leaving the business last year.
