Creditors’ voluntary liquidations up 70%

Creditors’ voluntary liquidations (CVLs) are 70% higher than the figures reported in July 2020 whilst corporate insolvencies fell once again by 9.3% from June to July 2021

This month’s insolvency figures show that in July 2021 there were a total of 1,094 registered company insolvencies, which was 13.4% higher than in the same month in the previous year, but 24% lower than the pre-pandemic year of July 2019.

There was 1,007 creditors’ voluntary liquidations (CVLs), which was similar to pre-pandemic levels in 2019 but 70% higher than July 2020.

Overall, there were 41 were compulsory liquidations, which is 77% lower than July 2020 and 84% lower than July 2019. Six of these were company voluntary arrangements (CVA), which is 65% lower than July 2020.

There were 40 administrations, which is 78% lower than July 2020 and there were no receivership appointments.
