Midlands accounting firm Dains has won a major audit contract for the Ricoh Arena, the region's leading multi-complex leisure venue. The audit was previously held by Deloitte for several years. Dains, which has offices at Fort Dunlop, Birmingham, won the contract following stiff competition from other national firms. which also tendered for the audit. Mark Hargate, audit director at Dains, said: 'We are delighted to have been chosen amid such tough competition and we look forward to contributing to the Ricoh Arena's future successes.' The Ricoh Arena is a £113m multi-purpose complex that has already won awards for its design. It is home to Coventry City Football Club and boasts, among its other facilities, the 6,000sq metre Jaguar Exhibition Hall, which has hosted a number of top concerts. It also has a conference and banqueting facility which is one of the largest column-free suites in the region. Daniel Gidney, chief executive of the Ricoh Arena, said: 'Hargate and his team came across as highly professional. This, coupled with the fact that Dains offer a full range of services to businesses in the Midlands, made them a good fit.'
