Pay rises for accountants below 2% over last year

Nearly four out of five (79%) businesses gave their accountants a pay rise over the last 12 months, with 6% increasing salaries by 5% or more, but salary growth for accountants continues to fall below the average increase across all industries, according to the latest salary survey by Hays.

In 2017, salaries for accounting and finance professionals rose on average by 1.4%, the same rate as in 2016, but salary growth in this industry continues to fall below the average salary increase for all industries at 1.8%.
