Paying agency workers a bonus

A fundamental change in employment legislation will create a challenge for finance and HR departments alike, most notably the change in the law on bonus payments. Following introduction of the Agency Workers’ Regulations (AWR) on 1 October 2011, agency workers will now benefit from the same basic terms and conditions as permanently employed members of staff, after a 12-week qualifying period. Under the new legislation, agency workers could become eligible for bonus payments.
