Do I need an accountant for my limited company?

Under Companies Act 2006, every company must keep accounting records for six years and they must be sufficient to show and explain the company’s transactions. A director may delegate this task to a bookkeeper or accountant, although it is not mandatory to do so.

The accounting records need to disclose with reasonable accuracy the financial position of the company at that time. Specifically, the records must contain the following information:
