Draft SORP for LLPs

The pros and cons of the draft plan for the new accounting rules for LLPs

The 10 January deadline is rapidly approaching for comments on the draft revised Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) on accounting by Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs). The Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies (CCAB) has proposed the SORP revisions in order to accommodate the requirements of the new UK GAAP – FRS 102, Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland – in force from 2015. As expected, the draft SORP focuses on accounting areas that could be particularly difficult or relevant for LLPs.
