Business remains unconvinced about the benefits of the employee shareholder scheme, says Philip Alfandary

The controversial new employee shareholder employment status, which became available from 1 September 2013, is based on the idea that employees would relinquish certain employment rights, such as unfair dismissal and the right to statutory redundancy payment, in return for tax advantages from owning shares.
