IS your PAYE account up to date?
Due to an issue with the PAYE online service, some employers did not receive the 2018/19 tax code notice P9 for some employees. HMRC believes it has now corrected the problem and issued P6 notices for those affected. As a result, employers may have seen an increase in P6 notices dated July.
A further issue with the online service has resulted in some PAYE accounts not being correctly updated. Employers should check their online accounts regularly to ensure they show the correct position. Errors should be reported to HMRC via the employer helpline (0300 200 3200).
