FTSE 250 soft drinks supplier Britvic has bucked the recent trend for auditor changes, by announcing that it has decided to retain EY as its auditor, following a competitive tender process, with the firm having filled the role since the company listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2005
Ian McHoul, chair of the Britvic audit committee, said: ‘We indicated our intention to tender the audit in the company's 2015 annual report and have conducted a robust and comprehensive process which has led to the audit committee's recommendation to retain EY.
‘I am pleased this recommendation has been accepted by the Board and I would like to thank the other firms who took part in the tender. We look forward to continuing to work with EY.’
According to its 2015 annual report, Britvic paid a total of £900,000 to EY over the year, made up of £600,000 for audit services and £300,000 for non-audit services.
