Lisa Jeannie Findley, 54, of Kimberling City, Missouri has been jailed for four years and nine months by the District Court of Tennessee in Memphis on 23 September for trying to defraud Elvis Presley’s family by trying to sell Graceland, the former home of Elvis Presley.

US District Judge John T Fowlkes said it would have been a ‘travesty of justice’ if the sale had been completed. ‘This was a highly sophisticated scheme to defraud,’ he said.

‘After she realised she was caught, she attempted to deflect responsibility onto fictitious third persons. Fortunately, the defendant’s scheme was unsuccessful.’

 At the trial, the court heard that Findley had posed as individuals affiliated with a ‘fictitious private lender’ in May 2023, falsely claiming that Elvis Presley’s daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, who had died that January, had failed to pay back a loan dating from 2018 before her death.
