Finance Mole: falling off the wagon

Finance Mole struggles with a resolution to become the healthiest bod in finance as he falls prey to the minibar on a finance team trip to head office

Regular readers of The Mole will be familiar with my views on January. To cut a long moan short, it’s rubbish. I’ve always considered the idea of dry January to be more tedious than an X Factor cover version so I always try to make January as wet as possible.

This year I tried a different tactic; trying several New Year’s resolutions in the hope that if I threw enough mud at the wall some would stick.

So I tried keeping an up-to-date to-do list, taking notes in only one pad at a time and generally being healthy. The to-do list didn’t last long and I soon had four pads with meeting notes in different parts of my desk but health wise I was doing well.

I took the stairs, ate apples rather than chocolate biscuits and once made a team smoothie (odd consistency, too much ginger, but I tried).
