Internal Recruiters are now a thing. It used to be that when you wanted to hire someone you called HR, who you barely ever saw. They promised to support you and promptly stayed out of it while you phoned up a recruitment consultant and the exercise progressed without interference.
Now you get fed endless CVs from LinkedIn which don’t have the right qualifications or are great because they want twice the salary which the Internal Recruiter talks up to try and get a body in to meet their KPIs.
As anyone who’s ever met me will tell you, I’m not really the ‘hey Buddy’, shoulder-pat type but the relentless chirpiness of the Internal Recruiter paid no heed to personality type. He ploughed on regardless maintaining a fixed grin, which I suppose helps if you have read 100 identikit cover letters describing great passion for mundane roles.
