Exeter-based independent regional airline operator Flybe has booked PwC as its new external auditor, replacing Deloitte which has reached the 10-year break point in its tenure of the role
In its 2017/18 annual report and accounts, the company said it would be holding a competitive tender process for the selection and appointment of an external auditor, to meet requirements under EU audit reform legislation.
It has now announced the appointment of PwC as auditor, replacing Deloitte for the financial year ending 31 March 2019. Approval for the appointment will be sought at the AGM on 13 September 2018.
Deloitte audited Flybe from the year ending 31 March 2007, and audited its IFRS annual report and accounts as a plc since the year ended 31 March 2011.
In a statement, the company said: ‘The board wishes to thank Deloitte for its years of service to Flybe.’
Deloitte was paid £593,000 for audit services last year, plus an additional £16,000 for non audit services, resulting in a total fee of £609,000.
