FRC starts search for £330k chief executive

The government is advertising for a chief executive to head up the Financial Reporting Council based in Birmingham following the resignation of Sir Jon Thompson

The role comes with a salary of £330,000 and benefits. The successful candidate will have to have knowledge about the ‘important work of the FRC’, which is responsible for promoting transparency and integrity in business, with oversight of the audit profession.

The new chief executive and accounting officer will be responsible for managing the transition of the FRC to the Audit, Reporting and Governance Authority (ARGA) once the government passes the necessary legislative changes to set up the long-awaited regulatory body.
