Tony Wright and Philip Watkins, partners at FRP Advisory, have been appointed joint administrators to South East law firm Hilliers HRW, which is to close with the loss of 34 jobs.
The firm, which had offices in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, went into administration following its failure to secure professional indemnity insurance cover. All existing client work in progress has been transferred to a range of other local firms of practising solicitors.
Hilliers HRW employed 34 staff including eight fee earners and support staff. FRP Advisory said it has retained a team of seven staff members during the initial administration process to assist in dealing with file closures, general administrative matters, client queries, debt collection and the transmission of client funds to ensure the orderly wind down is fully compliant with all necessary requirements stipulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
Tony Wright, partner at FRP Advisory and joint administrator to Hilliers HRW, said: 'We confirm that on 9 December Hilliers HRW LLP, the law firm, appointed administrators to manage its ongoing business and affairs in the interest of creditors and in compliance with requirements as set out by the SRA.'
