Gordon Ramsay sued by US accountants

A New York firm has filed a lawsuit against Gordon Ramsay for $75,000 (£48,900) in unpaid accounting services.

Star of the hit shows Hell's Kitchen and Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, the foul-mouthed celebrity chef is accused of not paying consulting, accounting and tax services bills owed to the accountants Marks Paneth & Shron.

The firm alleges that Ramsay and his business 'breached their contractual obligations by failing to make payment' on three invoices between July 2010 and October 2011.

According to the case presented to the Manhattan Supreme Court, the fiery Brit does not refute the amount owed, but has not paid the sum either.

It is not the first time that Ramsay, a multimillionaire, has encountered problems regarding the handling of his finances.

Financial statements for the year ended August 2008, for Gordon Ramsay Holdings International, revealed a £4.3m loss that was close to bringing his business to collapse.

The chef, later on, also had a falling out with his business partner at the time and father-in-law Christopher Hutcheson, who settled an unfair dismissal case with him for £2m.
