Government needs to simplify tax, says CIOT

With the government’s review of tax administration, the Chartered Institute of Taxation (CIOT) calls to create a tax system that is much simpler for taxpayers to navigate

In response to the government’s review of the framework, the CIOT says that this is the golden opportunity to implement ‘practical improvements’ to the current system that is considered one of the most ‘confusing tax systems in the world’.

CIOT has outlined five points that it believes the government should focus on when creating the new taxation framework.
