Hewitt: millennial accountants demand more from firms

Advances in technology and changing client expectations are leading many younger accountants to change how they do business, leaving many traditional firms behind, argues Colin Hewitt, CEO of Float

The future of the accountancy sector and the next generation of progressive, client-centric accountancy firms is cause for optimism, particularly when taking into consideration the introduction of Making Tax Digital (MTD) and what this means for the future of the industry. It will surely be a seminal event, in which digital accounting and advisory-first services become the new normal.

Beyond MTD, it is highly likely that a new generation of accountants familiar with the digital environment, and armed with emerging technologies and a drive to improve the client experience, will be an unstoppable force for good.
