The four-year restoration project of the Water Street building has finally been completed with HMRC staff able to start moving into the new regional hub from its current sites in Bootle and St Helens over the next few weeks.

The site was due to open in 2019 but was pushed back a year after large quantities of asbestos were found inside the building. It was pushed back again last year due to the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The architects overseeing the project were Falconer Chester Hall and Ryder, interior designers Ward Robinson and office fit-out specialists Overbury.
