HMRC to stop sending complaints factsheet to agents

HMRC is to stop sending complaints factsheets to agents who complain about self assessment or income tax.

The complaints factsheet provides information on how to complain and what to expect from HMRC.

Following a request for clarification on this approach, HMRC told Accountancy that this agent approach will apply to all agent complaints, not just self assessment or income tax complaints.

This means the factsheet will no longer be routinely issued, but agents will be made aware of the complaints escalation route as HMRC correspondence will now include a link to the factsheet.

The complaints factsheet is available HERE
