Housebuilder FD Arnold quits

Housebuilder Redrow's finance director is to leave the company after seven years. Arnold, who joined the business in 2002 and became FD a year later, will leave at the end of March 2010. Chairman Steve Morgan said: 'David has served the company well for the past seven years. I am pleased that he has agreed to stay on until March to ensure an orderly transition.' Arnold said: 'During the last 12 months, Redrow has been well positioned and I wish Steve and the team every success in their endeavours.' Arnold has formerly been with Tarmac and drinks group Six Continents. He also oversaw this autumn's £150m rights issue, which will allow Redrow, based in Flintshire, Wales, to replenish its land bank. Last month the company said house sales in the second half of the year had been 'remarkably stable'. The company said a search for Arnold's successor is underway.
