Hybrid work model will erode organisational culture

Hybrid working is leading to a ‘culture crisis’ with four out of 10 auditors believing that the move is damaging company culture and affecting levels of collaboration

The report by the Chartered Institute of Internal (CIIA), which was designed to monitor the risks that have been most impacted by the covid-19 pandemic, also found that retaining talented employees had become a problem, along with detecting fraud.

The ‘culture crisis’ has the potential to ‘trigger a chain of negative impacts across wider business structures’, the CIIA warned. This ‘crisis’ is said to have been caused by the hybrid working model which limits face-to-face interaction, curtailing previous efforts to build strong organisational cultures and team cohesion.

Remote and working from home options have become a necessity in the new world of the pandemic, which has led to almost a year-long lockdown period across the globe.
