Hybrid working rolled out at majority of accounting firms

Four in five (79%) accounting firms are seeing an increase in flexible working as a result of Covid-19 with a third of accountants already working a four-day week

Research from FreeAgent has identified changing working patterns across the profession, more focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and the need to improve digital skills as the most important issues for accountants post pandemic.

Hybrid working is being used by the majority of firms although there are significant differences between adoption levels with larger firms (76-250 staff) twice as likely to have hybrid working policies compared to just 34% of smaller practices with up to 40 employees.
