IFRS Foundation plans Beijing office

The trustees of the IFRS Foundation are set to open a Beijing office in mid-2023 to strengthen accounting and sustainability ties with China

The IFRS Foundation has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Finance of China to establish a Beijing office. The MoU is effective for an initial three-year period.

The signing of the MoU follows the COP26 announcement of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) and its global and multi-location presence by the trustees.

The Beijing office, established as a representative office, is expected to open in mid-2023.
