Informa, the provider of business publishing, conferences, exhibitions and training - has announced plans to once again make the UK its tax domicile, returning from Zug which became its base in 2009 due Switzerland's friendlier tax regime.

At the time Informa was among a string of companies including WPP, Wolsely and Shire which left the UK for the same reason. WPP returned from Dublin a year ago, following the Treasury's moves to slash corporation tax rates.

The FTSE 350 company, which is audited by Deloitte (£1.3m audit fee: 2012) revealed its plans yesterday at the same time as an announcement of three non-executive additions to its board.

According to Infoma, the moves, which would see the parent company of the group return to the UK during 2014, will be subject to shareholder approval. Details of the move will be provided in a shareholder circular and prospectus which will be issued to shareholders and an EGM is anticipated to be held sometime in Q2 2014.

'We anticipate no material change in reported tax rates or taxation paid as a result of the change in domicile,' Informa said.
