The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has published
a report on the monitoring of compliance with IFRS in the 2010 financial
statements of European listed companies. The most frequent issues
giving rise to enforcement actions included financial instruments,
IFRS 8, Operating segments, the impairment of non-financial assets
and the reclassification of non-current liabilities following a breach
of loan covenants.
