International reporting: IFRS 16, disclosures and IBOR progress

Jeroen Van Doorsselaere examines the latest developments in IFRS reporting from first year IFRS 16 Lease accounting implementation to plans for a new measure to define operating result before depreciation and amortisation (ORBDA) 

Last month the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) focused on clarifying the exposure draft around general presentation of disclosures and it is now preparing to initiate the interbank offered rates (IBOR) reforms in order to tackle issues that could arise from the implementations of this new reference rate. But before we explore these developments, it is also worth considering IFRS 16 Leases.

IFRS 16 Leases, which is already applicable for all corporates with lease assets, has recently been a topic for discussion at the IFRS Interpretations Committee (IFRIC), the interpretative body of the IASB.
