ISSB eyes up disclosures on biodiversity risks

Following the launch of the initial sustainability standards, the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) is looking to expand disclosures on risks related to nature and human capital

The move is a result of a recent consultation on future priorities, which sees the launch of specific projects to research disclosure about risks and opportunities associated with biodiversity, ecosystems and ecosystem services; and human capital.

These projects will enable the ISSB to embark on its own standard-setting work in key areas needed to establish more specific disclosures to build out the global baseline of sustainability-related financial disclosures.

However, at this stage the ISSB is only considering the topic and has not made a final decision on whether any new standards are required.
