Kingston Smith media acquisition takes the stage

Top 20 firm Kingston Smith has acquired Anderson & Pennington, a boutique firm of accountants and business advisers serving the media and entertainment sectors, in a bid to strengthen its media services offering

Anderson & Pennington is a highly regarded and well known media and entertainment practice specialising in the theatre, music, film and television industries. The firm, which has three partners, acts for clients ranging from individual artistes or technicians through to international corporate producers.

The firm’s 25 people will join Kingston Smith’s existing media dedicated West End team.

Maureen Penfold, managing partner of Kingston Smith, said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Steven Anderson and his team to Kingston Smith. This move represents a key step in Kingston Smith’s on-going growth strategy. It will enhance our existing dedicated offering of joined up services on both sides of the Atlantic within the media space, in which we already have a wealth of experience.’

Kingston Smith, ranked at number 18 in Accountancy’s league table of firms, reported fee income of £44.9m in 2016 and had 62 partners.
