KPMG has retained its role as external auditor to Synectics, an AIM-listed company which specialises in the design, delivery and management of integrated security and surveillance systems, following a competitive tender process

In a statement to the London stock exchange the board of Synectics announced its intention to recommend to shareholders, for approval at the 2018 annual general meeting, the re-appointment of KPMG as auditor of the group.

The company stated its intention to tender external audit services during 2017 in its 2016 annual report and accounts.

Synectics said: ‘The board would like to thank KPMG for their contribution as the group's auditor, and also the other firms that took part in the tender process.'

KPMG has audited the company, whose products are used by oil and gas plants, casinos, transport operators and public authorities worldwide, since 2007. According to the 2016 annual report, the firm’s fees totalled £192,000.
