KPMG tax centre creates 150 Scottish jobs

KPMG is to open a 'Tax Centre of Excellence' in Glasgow this summer, creating 150 Scottish jobs as a result.

The centre financed by the firm, along with a £1.7m grant from Scottish Enterprise will handle tax compliance work from the firm's 22 UK offices and will be based in Glasgow's financial district.

Jane McCormick, KPMG's head of tax & pensions UK, said: 'Creating this dedicated tax compliance team in Glasgow allows our tax professionals across the UK to focus on providing high quality client advice in an ever-changing fiscal environment.'

Recruitment for the centre will begin in the next few weeks with the firm looking to bring in 150 new staff members to its UK team.

Lena Wilson, chief executive of Scottish Enterprise, said: 'It's a testament to the quality of the Scottish workforce, and the strength of our business community, that this major new investment is coming to Glasgow. We look forward to working in partnership with KPMG as the project continues to develop.'
