The Office of Tax Simplification (OTS) has begun recruiting procedures for senior policy advisors, with applications closing on 8 July 2016
The job role includes research and analysis, regular liason with HMRC and Treasury teams plus meeting around the country with businesses, employers, tax professionals, charities, HMRC staff, academics and representative bodies.
The aim of the role is to identify where the areas of greatest complexity are and to develop ideas for improvements.
Candidates must have suitable qualifications such as being a chartered tax adviser or demonstrate a wide knowledge or range of experience in order to apply.
Expert knowledge of tax areas is one of the skills required by the OTS along with experience of working with stakeholers and skills in technical analysis, challenging views, giving presentations and drafting documents.
All posts are based in London and candidiates are expected to work 42 hours a week.
As part of the application process candidates will have to complete a three-part application form.
Last week, it was announced the Treasury is seeking to appoint a new head of the OTS after John Whiting confirmed he will step down and retire in November.
