Over four million UK adults have used AI at work

More than four million people in the UK have used generative artificial intelligence (AI) at work, despite the risks in accuracy and many not informing their employers

Deloitte’s 2023 digital consumer trends research, based on a survey of 4,150 UK adults, found that nearly one in 10 (8%) have used AI tools for work – equivalent to over four million people.

But many companies have not implemented policy guidelines on the use of AI, while there are fears that AI could replace jobs and there is no guarantee that the information generated is accurate.

Of those that have used the function, almost a third (30%) said they had only used it once or twice, with 28% using it every week.

More than two-thirds (70%) who used the technology had done so for personal use, while 34% said it was for educational purposes.
