Payroll issues flagged post-Budget

In a Budget light on new employment tax measures, there are a few issues for payroll managers to get to grips with, advises Lora Murphy ACIPP, Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals

Against the backdrop of a cost of living crisis and multiple strikes across public services, everyone was eager to hear the government’s plans for the future when Chancellor Jeremy Hunt delivered the Budget for 2023 on 15 March.  

Here at the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP), we were keeping our eyes peeled for any announcements which could impact the work of payroll professionals. Those in the industry can breathe a sigh of relief, as although the Budget unveiled many new policies, there were not many which will directly affect the day-to-day work of the payroller.
