Keith Broom has joined logistics firm Sutton Group as finance director. Broom was most recently group FD at Merlin Claims Services Group and prior to that was chief financial officer City Link. He is expected to assist the company in its expansion in the Middle East and Asia.
Deloitte has appointed Rhianne Cox as tax director to its Welsh office. Chartered in both accountancy and tax advice, Cox first joined Deloitte following her university studies, but moved to Ernst & Young's corporate tax team two years later.
Fabio Barbosa, the CFO of the UK's third largest gas provider, BG Group is to take a leave of absence on medical grounds. Appointed to the role in 2011, it is expected Barbosa will not return this year; financial controller Den Jones will assume responsibilities in his absence.
Financial services company Nucleus has appointed Stuart Geard as managing director. South African-born Geard joins from Nucleus' largest shareholder, Sanlam UK where he was FD and when in Cape Town was part of Sanlam's corporate finance team. He has served on most of Sanlam Group's UK business, including as chairman of Nucleus' audit and risk committee.
Lindsay Manson has joined Smith & Williamson as an associate director in the firm's assurance and business team. Manson leaves KPMG where she was for six years, specialising in financial services.
