Cardiff City FC has announced Simon Lim as the club's financial director. Lim, a Malaysian national will be based at the club's stadium. According to statements from the club, Lim has 'strong connections' with Cardiff City's biggest shareholder Vincent Tan.
Franck Parker has been confirmed as Kreston International's next chairman, only the fourth to hold the position in the company's 41 year history. Beginning his career at Arthur Andersen, Parker moved to French firm Exco before taking this new role.
The Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore (ICPAS) has made Lee Fook Chiew its next CEO. Fook Chiew was most recently executive vice president of Wah Hin & Co. Pte, a private investment holding company, but was previously CFO at Infocomm Development Authority and was a member of the Singapore government administrative service as deputy director of industrial policy & manpower development with the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
Steve Hale a former PwC assurance director has moved to PKF as a partner in its audit practice. Hale, who joined the Big Four firm in 1990 following the completion of his physics degree makes the transition from PwC along with Nicky Whitehead who has been made Manager in the firm's not for profit team.
Australian accounting academic, Professor Barry Cooper has been named as ACCA president. Cooper is head of the school of accounting, economics and finance at Deakin University, Melbourne.
