HIT Training has promoted Jill Whittaker to managing director. Previously CFO at the hospital industry training company for six years, Whittaker has held financial director at several UK-based companies.

VAT specialist Graham Elliott has joined Withers as a transaction tax consultant. Elliott joins the legal firm from haysmacintyre, where he made partner and before that was at Arthur Andersen.

Warren Allen has been elected as president of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). Olivia Kirtley will be the first female, IFAC deputy president after being voted in to takeover Allen's former role. Allen is a retired Ernst & Young partner and has been on the IFAC board for six years. Kirtley was previously vice president of finance and chief financial officer of Vermont American Corporation.

Gerry Tucker has been appointed as Bango chief financial officer. Tucker was most recently CFO at PLUS Markets Group and has held high-level positions at Kuju Entertainment, Activision, Vodafone Ireland and Deloitte.
