Crowe Clark Whitehill has appointed Jim Gee as head of forensic and counter-fraud services. He joins the firm from PKF Littlejohn. Gee was the founding CEO of the NHS Counter-Fraud Service, delivering more than £800m of savings and cutting the cost of fraud by 60%, and has also held positions as senior advisor to the Attorney-General, three Secretaries of State and five Ministers.

UNW, north east accountancy and advisory firm, has appointed Suzanne McArdle as a senior tax manager. She has previously spent 11 years at KPMG as tax senior manager and has been head of tax at Gentoo. McArdle will help corporate clients manage their tax reporting and compliance whilst also providing advice to clients on a range of tax matters.

JW Hinks LLP has appointed David Hewitt as business services supervisor and Ben Crowley as a tax consultant. Hewitt is a qualified member of the ICAEW and was previously a small business accountant at KPMG. Crowley has worked for several national firms across the country and has over 11 years’ experience working in tax.

Paul Druckman has been appointed to the Board of the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) starting from 1 January 2017. He will join the Codes and Standards Committee and become Chair of the Corporate Reporting Council. He led the International Intergrated Reporting Council as CEO for five years and is chairman of The Clear Group, an independent insurance broker.

Françoise Flores will join the International Accounting Standards Board on 1 January 2017. She was previously chief executive officer of the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) and chairman of EFRAG’s Technical Expert Group (TEG). Most recently, she was partner at Mazars in Paris, France. Flores is appointed for an initial five-year term, expiring 31 December 2021.

Joanna Perry has been reappointed to chair the IFRS Advisory Council for a second term. The council’s role is to advise the IFRS Foundation Trustees and Board on strategic and technical matters. She has chaired the Council since April 2014 and begins her new term on 1 January 2017.

Two very interesting opportunities have arisen within the CCH Publishing team at Wolters Kluwer UK for technical writers specialising in audit and accounting. Post holders will be responsible for writing and reviewing audit and related content and will work with the team to innovate the way that content is delivered to maximise the value to our customers. The technical writers will maintain constant vigilance to ensure that CCH is aware of all new content developments, such as the pending release of new audit or accounting standards and to ensure that these are dealt with comprehensively and promptly.
