This week's news of professional moves in the sector includes an executive director at EY, Deloitte adds to members to its risk data and analytics team, a senior audit partner at BDO retires after 40 years
EY’s Ove Svejstrup moves to the Channel Islands from Guernsey to become executive director. Svejstrup moved to EY in Guernsey from the Copenhagen office and has more than 15 years’ experience in the financial services industry with EY. Svejstrup was seconded to EY’s Guernsey office for two years and during this time he led audit engagements for a cross section of financial service clients.
Andrew Berry and Scott Thomson have been appointed to Deloitte’s risk data and analytics team. Berry will be based in the Edinburgh office as a director to help build banking data and analytic capabilities, focusing on Scotland. He was previously SAS UK’s financial services sales support leader. Thomson will join the London office as a director to support the growth and investment in data analytics in the insurance sector. He has previously worked for Aviva for over 10 years and has provided analytics advisory services whilst working for PwC.
James Roberts has retired as senior audit partner at BDO after 40 years in practice. He will continue to chair the ICAEW’s audit faculty for some months and will take on consulting work for BDO’s international network. Roberts has wide experience in audit and governance in particular regulation. He retires to run Oast Farm in East Sussex with his family.
Maidenhead accountancy firm, Eastmonds, has appointed Suvash Maharjan. He joins the firm as a school leaver after finishing his A levels.
