People in the news: Moore Stephens, Armstrong Watson

In this week’s moves and appointments roundup, Moore Stephens appoints a corporate advisory partner and also gains a director in its payroll team, a restructuring partner joins Armstrong Watson

Moore Stephens has appointed Chris Marsden as a partner of the firm’s corporate advisory services in Bristol. Marsden has previously worked at EY, where he was head of restructuring and insolvency for seven years. More recently, he has worked independently and has advised clients including Severn River Crossing PLC where he was involved in the transfer of the Severn Bridges from private to public ownership. The firm has also appointed Maria Mason as a director. She joins from Strictly Education where she was a sales director. Previously she spent 13 years within the Bond group of companies, initially with Team Spirit Software and Headcount Services Ltd (HCS) as a general manager. Mason will be based at the firms Reading office, but will be providing payroll services to both public and private sector companies and groups across both Thames Valley and London.

Robert Adamson has joined Armstrong Watson as a restructuring, recovery and insolvency partner in its Leeds office. Adamson joins from an international firm where he was also a partner. He specialises in business recovery and turnaround and has extensive knowledge in corporate restructuring and insolvent company rescue procedures and has acted for a variety of stakeholders.

FTI Consulting has appointed Iain Graham as a managing director in the firm’s corporate finance and restructuring practice in London. Graham joins following a 19-year career with PwC, where he led a wide range of high-profile complex international restructurings, advising clients in both the listed public and private environments, as well as a number of PFI projects. His recent experience has been across a wide range of industries, including commodities, mining and waste management.
